This past several weeks, the sexual assault and harassment of women has risen to the top in Canada, with thanks to Jian Ghomeshi. CBC is taking the allegations seriously, as is the media everywhere.

And women are disclosing not only violence, but also why they don’t disclose.  Women are talking, Kate Mcinturff says in her blog on rabble, and we need to learn from them and do more than be sorry. Take action and make change

We are hearing much dialogue on CBC: Michael Enright asked four panelists on Sunday Morning: what needs to change in the criminal justice system? “Yasmin” disclosed her years of sexual harassment on Parliament Hill on The House this past Saturday and Angela Misri describes how CBC chould have handled her disclosure better.

Gandhi told us years ago, Be the change you wish to see in the world. Change is hard and a paradigm shift globally is even harder. But if each person commits to taking action, and if each man holds other men responsible (as Jane Doe advised years ago in Toronto when she was used by the police to trap a serial rapist) that is one more step to ending the violence.

Imagine a world where a woman, girl, man or boy is totally supported, believed, and cared for when they disclose. Imagine a new way of being.
